Abstract

Parents have anxiety for children who have health problems is the most common experience. Anxiety can affect the physiological and non-physiological conditions of parents. Parents complain that when they communicate, they will be easy to feel wrong, more sensitive, irritable, offended and have easy to tired because it disturbs rest and sleep. The purpose of this study is identifying a description of the anxiety level of parents of toddler children who have treated hospitalization in the Pediatric Ward of Ungaran Hospital. The type of study uses quantitative descriptive. The sample determination technique was determined by incidental sampling with the amount of 57 respondents. The instrument is used the Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale (HARS) questionnaire to measure the level of anxiety. This study uses univariate data analysis. This study shows that anxiety levels from 57 parents are no anxiety amount of 13 parents (22.81%), mild anxiety amount of 25 parents (43.86%), moderate anxiety amount of 12 parents (21.05%) , severe anxiety amount of 7 parents (12.28%), and respondents with serious anxiety or panic amounted to 0 (0%). Therefore, parents can recognize the anxiety experience so they are able to use the right techniques to control it. Keywords: anxiety, parents of toddler, hospitalization
