ASPEK MORAL DALAM NOVEL DAWUK KISAH KELABU DARI RUMBUK RANDU KARYA MAHFUD IKHWAN (Sebuah Kajian Sosiologi Sastra)

This study analyzes the values of life in the novel Dawuk Kisah Kelabu dari Rumbuk Randu, which focuses on the moral aspects that can be used as an example.This thesis uses qualitative methods, and uses literary research to obtain the data.The objective of this study is to describe the structure of literary work in the form of the intrinsic elements analysis, such as characters and characterizations, plot, setting and moral values of Dawuk Kisah Kelabu Dari Rumbuk Randu. The result of the analysis shows thatDawuk Kisah Kelabu dari Rumbuk Randu has intrinsic elements and moral aspects. The intrinsic elements, in terms of the characters, there are the main characters and supporting characters namely Mat Dawuk, Inayatun, Mbah Dulawi, Mat Dawuk's father, Mr Imamudin, Mrs. Sulaikah, Har's Overseer, and Blandong Hasan.Whereasthe moral aspects, there are positive and negative moral aspects.The positive moral values of this novel are not hurting other people, love, responsibility, independence, kinship, obedience, and commitment, while the negative moral values are revenge, disrespect, disloyalty, selfishness, fighting, and telling lies. The negative values that are expected to give bad impact to the story turn out give positive impact instead. However, behind the negative values in this novel there are positive valuesthat are conveyed to the readers. Keyword: Literature, Novel, Structure, Moral Value.
