Abstract
Stunting (short body) is body condition which is very short to exceed the deficit of 2 SD (Deviation Standard) below the median length or height of the population that is an international reference. The results of the preliminary study show that the factors that influence the incidence of stunting in the Bandarharjo Community Health Center in Tanjungmas Semarang are the lack of knowledge of parents. In the Bandarharjo Community Health Center area, especially in Tanjung Kelurahan, 45.7% of children were stunted. Based on this, the researcher was interested in conducting research on how the description of parental knowledge about stunting in the Bandarharjo Community Health Center area of Semarang. This research was a quantitative study with a descriptive research design. The sampling technique was purposive sampling with total sample of 108 parents of fertile age couples. The results showed that the majority of respondents (52.8%) had good knowledge about stunting. The highest knowledge is found in the impact domain (60.2%), followed by the prevention domain (55.6%), the influencing factor domain (50.9%) and the definition domain (46.3%). The conclusion of this study was that parents' knowledge of the stunting definition domain in the bad category for couples of childbearing age. It is expected that parents must increase and implement their knowledge about stunting.
