Abstract

Karyawan bagian operator mixing mengalami pemaparan benzene dari bensin pada saat melakukan aktivitas pencucian mesin mixer untuk menghilangkan warna sebelum pencampuran bijih plastik dengan pigmen warna selanjutnya. Aktivitas tersebut dilakukan 4-5 kali setiap harinya. Hal tersebut mengakibatkan pengaruh pada kadar hemoglobin darah, karena efek pemaparan benzene dalam jangka panjang dapat menurunkan kemampuan sumsum tulang dalam memproduksi sel darah merah dan mengurangi kemampuan hidup sel darah merah itu sendiri, sehingga menimbulkan turunnya kadar hemoglobin darah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisa besar risiko lama pemaparan benzene terhadap kadar hemoglobin darh pada operator mixing industri plastik PT. X. Jenis penelitian merupakan penelitian observasional dengan pendekatan cross sectional. Populasi penelitian adalah karyawan laki-laki PT. X dengan sampel 42 orang, 21 dari bagian operator mixing dan 21 dari bagian lain. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan antara lama pemaparan benzene dengan kadar hemoglobin darah pada operator mixing industri plastik PT. X (pvalue=0,027 pada alfa 0,05). Dari analisis Rasio Prevalensinya menunjukkan bahwa lama pemaparan benzene (RP=2,2) merupakan faktor risiko turunnya kadar hemoglobin darah.Untuk mengurangi efek benzene perusahaan dapat melakukan pemberian susu dan informasi kepada tenaga kerja serta penyesuaian alat pelindung diri khususnya masker, sarung tangan dan baju kerja. Kata Kunci: lama pemaparan benzene, kadar hemoglobin THE RISK OF LONG TERM BNEZENE DISCLOSURE PERIODS TOWARD BLOOD HAEMOGLOBIN ON THE MIXING OPERATOR PLASTIC INDUSTRY AT PT. X Employee of mixing operator section suffering from disclosure of benzene from gasoline -while they carrying out mixer machine- washing activity in order to wash off colour before plastic ore mixing with the next colour pigments. The activiy carried out 4 to 5 times a day. this activity could influence the blood haemoglobin, because the long term effect of benzene can decrease the live ability of erythocyte it sefl, therefore it caused the decrease of blood haemoglobin. This research aim to analyzed the risk of long-term benzene periods toward blood haemoglobin on the mixing operator plastic industry of PT. X. This is an observational research with cross sectional approach. Research population are male employee with sample of 42 people, they are 21 employee from mixing operator and 21 from other section. The result shows that there is a correlation between the long term disclosure of benzene with blood haemoglobin on the mixing operator plastic industry of PT. X (pvalue=0,027 at alpha 0,05). The Prevalens Ratio analysis shows that long term benzene disclosure (RP=2,2) is the risk factors for decreasing of blood haemoglobin. In order to decrease the benzene effect, the company can serve milk and information to employees and adjusting the personal protective equipment especially masker, gloves and wearpack.
