SKRIPSI TELUH DALAM BUDAYA JAWA PADA NOVEL CERITA CALON ARANG KARYA PRAMOEDYA ANANTA TOER (Kajian Antropologi Sastra)

The material object of this research is the novel Cerita Calon Arang By Pramoedya Ananta Toer This study uses a analitic descriptive method based on structural theory and the study of literary anthropology about witchcraft in Javanese culture. The purpose of this study is to describe the intrinsic elements and explain them in Javanese culture in the novel Calon Arang. The writer uses structural theory to explain the building elements of the novel (Groove, Figure and Characterization, Background, and Theme). In addition, the author also uses the study of literary anthropology to examine the truth in Javanese culture (Witchcraft in Javanese culture as an action and 6reaction, The knowledge system of witchcraft, also how to do witchcraft system and how to cure it). The results of structural analysis of the novel Cerita Calon Arang By Pramoedya Ananta Toer is that there is a plot that has a logical relationship that contains the initial, middle, final stages and chronological relationships that have cause and effect between events in the novel. Has twelve figures divided into two main figures and ten additional characters. It has a background in the Daha State.The major theme are good and intelligence defeats crime, while the minor themes are empire, populist, animism, kinship, romance, and black magic (magic). The results of the anthropological analysis studies on Witchcraft on Javanese Culture in the novel Calon Arang is that Witchcraft as an action and reaction that cause conflict. There is a system of knowledge in Javanese culture that is viewed or known as a magical activity that is evil. The Witchcraft system embodied in Javanese culture in the novel includes the type of Witchcraft, the perpetrators and victims, the Witch crafting belief system, the way of doing the witchcraft and the way to cure it. The type of teluh is based on the aim to avenge, based on its place of origin, originating from Java. Executors and victims have been two conflicting groups, perpetrators are strong groups, and victims are weak groups. The belief system regarding Witchcraft in Javanese culture is in the form of animism. The method of witchcraft is by witchcraft delivery pattern through the core energy of targets with rituals.
