Abstract

ABSTRACT Imaduddin, Yuqdha. 2018. "Analysis of Personality of the Main Character Conan Edogawa in Detective Conan : The Fourteenth Target by Director Kenji Kodama (Psychoanalysis Study) ". Thesis, Japanese Language and Culture Study Program, Diponegoro University, Semarang. Supervisor, Zaki Ainul Fadli, SS, M. Hum. The main purpose of this thesis is the explain the substances of narrative structure in the movie of Detective Conan : The Fourteenth Target and its main character’s personality. This research uses a movie entetled Detective Conan : The Fourteenth Target, as the object of the studies. The method used in this analysis is the library study method to obtain data that supports research.Furthermore, the theories that support the research are the structural theories and personality psychology by Sigmund Freud. The results show that the main character’s personality Conan Edogawa, has strong personality where his Ego has the ability to adjust his action by considering the principle of reality. Furthermore, Conan has smart personality, because he uses the effective and unexpected way to find the culprit of homicide and solve it.
