Abstract

ABSTRACT ABSTRACT Lathifah, Desy. 2019. "Personality Structure of main characters in “Kimi no Na wa” Novel by Makoto Shinkai (Psychology of Literature)”, Thesis, Japanese Literature, Diponegoro University, Semarang. Supervisor Fajria Noviana, S.S, M.Hum. The object of this research is the novel Kimi no Na wa by Makoto Shinkai. The purpose of this research was to describe intrinsic element and personality structure of the main characters in the novel Kimi no Na Wa. This research used literature method, was in the form of books and written materials. The theories used to analyze were strutural theory and pstchological approach. Structural theory was used to analyzed intrinsic elements in the novel, while psychology approach used Ludwigh Klage’s personality structure theory to analyzed main characters of Kimi no Na wa’s personality structure. The result of this research are explained as follows. A character named Taki had Sanguinis temprament which made him unyielding eventhough sometimes troubled others. The feeling that Taki had could be easily raised because Taki had a nerve feeling that wasn’t in the right position. Meanwhile a character named Mitsuha had Phlegmatis tempramen that kept her from problem and always thought carefully. Mitsuha’s feelings easily raised because Mitsuha had feeling nerves that wasn’t in the right position so she was easily carried away.
