Abstract

Kata kunci: eutrofikasi, STORET, eceng gondok, mesocosm, faktor bioakumulasi The Batujai Reservoir is one of the reservoirs in the Lombok Island, West Nusa Tenggara Province which was built in 1977-1982 and has a water depth of 6-8 m and an inundation area of 890 hectares and a capacity of 25 million m3. The government and the local community use the Batujai Reservoir as agricultural irrigation, hydropower, drinking water, fisheries and tourism raw materials. The environmental problems of the Batujai Reservoir waters are water pollution and eutrophication which triggers the explosion of water hyacinth almost 30% of the reservoir area. This study aims to (1) analyze the water quality of the Batujai Reservoir; (2) assess the growth rate of water hyacinth; (3) assess the ability of heavy metal accumulation by water hyacinth; (4) developing a water hyacinth management strategy in the Batujai Reservoir. The research was conducted on 5 sampling stations with Purpossive Random Sampling method based on the waste stream from community activities and water hyacinth covering. Determining the status of Batujai Reservoir water quality using the STORET method and the growth rate of water hyacinth using the mesocosm approach on 1x1 m2 size squares and developing management strategies with SWOT. The results showed that the waters of the Batujai Reservoir were based on the parameters of TSS, Do, BOD, COD, Phosphate, and Pb, which were heavily polluted for classes I, II, and III and moderate polluted status for class IV. The growth of water hyacinth buds from one to two takes ± 4 days with an average of water hyacinth biomass on H42 of 2.6 kg. The Specific Growth Rate (LPS) of water hyacinth in the Batujai Reservoir reaches an average of 5.4% per day and the average value of Pb BAF by the water hyacinth root is 33.83 (BAF> 1) so that it is known as a hyperaccumulator plant. The results of the SWOT analysis of the Batujai Reservoir waters obtained strategies by minimizing weaknesses to take advantage of existing opportunities, including; (1) the management of water hyacinth mechanically by locating water hyacinth to the edge of the reservoir and given a net barrier to avoid the spread of water hyacinth does not expand and simplify lifting with heavy equipment, while the management of water hyacinth is done biologically with koan fish stocking. (2) utilization of water hyacinth to increase people's income through community empowerment and the establishment of business groups of craftsmen; (3) Decreasing nutrient content in the waters of the Batujai Reservoir by making a pre-impoundment pond; (4) institutional capacity development and coordination of all stakeholders in the management of water hyacinth. Keywords: eutrophication, STORET, water hyacinth, mesocosm approach, bioaccumulation factor
