JARINGAN KOMUNIKASI KOMUNITAS SOSIAL DI KOTA SEMARANG DALAM MEMPERTAHANKAN EKSISTENSI

Abstract

The existence of a social community has a vision and mission to help social problems in many communities. Therefore, the existence of social communities will still continue to be needed by the surrounding community. The issue of volunteers and the issue of donations are important issues in the existence of social communities. But on the way, volunteers and donations from the social community experienced ups and downs. In addition, social communities through their activities make social changes in society. Network analysis helps this research in describing the flow of communication formed, roles in the network, so as to be able to show the position of actors in maintaining the existence of social communities. This study uses a model of communication convergence and social change theory. The paradigm used is post positivistic with descriptive research type. Data analysis from this study uses three forms of levels in communication network analysis, namely system level, click level, and individual level. The research process was carried out directly in the environment of social community activities in the city of Semarang, with the three main social communities of this research namely the Pagi Berbagi community, the Satoe Atap community and the Kompas Semar community. The results of this study were obtained from several social communities in the city of Semarang. Then the results of the survey dissemination from sociometric questions are processed through the UCINET 6.4 Social Network Analysis software. Based on the results found related to the existence of social communities, it was found that actors with long experience of social activities and coordinators were still very dominant in information in the network system regarding the issue of volunteers and the issue of donations to maintain the existence of social communities. Besides that, the social changes made by the social community by making changes to maintain existence require a stable system in their communication network
