PERJUANGAN HIDUP DAN KEPRIBADIAN TOKOH UTAMA DALAM NOVEL ARKHYTIREMA “KELAHIRAN” KARYA DICKY ZAINAL ARIFIN (Kajian Psikologi Kepribadian)

Study Of Culture Faculty Diponegoro University Semarang. First consultant Dra. Rukiyah, M. Hum. and Second consultant Fajrul Falah, S.Hum., M.Hum. The research object is a novel Arkhytirema “Kelahiran” Novel by Dicky Zainal Arifin. The purpose of this research is to explain intrinsic substances and reveal the struggle of life the protagonist in Arkhytirema “Kelahiran” Novel. Writer uses structural theory to explain the elements of novel (character in a strory and the form, the plot and background). Writer also uses personality psychology to study the struggle of life from the protagonist with Abraham Maslow theory (phsyological need, the need of feel secure, affection need, appreciation need and self actualization need). Writer uses qualitative method according to structural theory and personality psychology. Structural analysis report toward Arkhytirema “Kelahiran” novel are; 46 sequences are found with 46 subsequences and uses forward technique of plotting. Have fourteen character with one protagonist and thirteen additonal characters. Analysis result on struggle of life the protagonist character Arkhytirema shows a great effort in order to meet with Adhama. The struggle of Arkhytirema is not easy, to be able to meet Adhama, he has to travel planets and face great danger. In the beginning, Arkhytirema hardly able to control his power however with the help of Adhama Arkhytirema slowly able to gain his control toward his power. According to struggle of life analysis, it shows that the character Arkhytirema in Arkhytirema “Kelahiran” can be classified into five categories. Those are the phsyologycal need, the need of feel secure, affection need, appreciation need and self actualization need.
