Abstract

The research aimed was to determine the effect of co-subtrat tapioca waste water and dairy feces on methane production andvolatile solid (VS) reduction. The results showed that there was a positive effect of treatment (FC) compared to control (dairy feces was diluted with water/FA). Methane production of FC (301.53 ml/gVS/day)washigher (p<0.05) than the FA (184.88 ml/gVS/day). However, co-substrate of tapioca waste water and dairy feces gave no effect (p>0.05) on the volatile solid reduction ofFC (23.06%)andFA (33.33%).It can be concluded that tapioca waste water can be used to increase (p< 0.05) methane production of the biogas from digester treating dairy feces, however there was no effect on the volatile solid reduction.
