Abstract
Patient safety is a first priority for improving the quality of service for Primary Health Care, but there is no accurate data regarding related matters. Patient safety aims to make nursing care safer and prevent injuries caused by mistakes in an action. This study aims to determine the description of the implementation of patient safety goals by nurses at Inpatient Primary Health Care in Semarang. This type of research was quantitative used a descriptive design with a survey approach. The sampling technique used was total sampling with a total sample of 73 respondents. The results showed that the implementation of patient safety goals was good (58,9%) and low (41,1%). This research was supported by 6 goals of patient safety, including identify patients correctly (good = 65,8%), improve effective communication (good = 52,1%), improve safety of high alert medication (good = 57,5%), ensure correct-site, correct-procedure, correct-patient surgery (good = 58,9%), reduce the risk of healthcare associated infections (good = 53,4%), reduce the risk of patient harm resulting from falls (good = 54,8%). The conclusion of this study is that nurses have carried out the implementation of patient safety goals at Inpatient Primary Health Care properly, however the improvement of effective communication was still lacked. Primary Health Care are expected to facilitate patient safety training and nurses are expected to improve skills in the implementation of patient safety by education and training.
