Abstract

The objectives of this research are to analyse the form of Women Farmer Group (WFG) strategy and the factors that affects WFG strategy in overcome the impact of climate change. The methods use is mixed methods. Qualitative method uses descriptive analysis and quantitative method uses logit. This research conducted in Ketapang village is one of administrative area in Susukan subdistrict, Semarang regency, Central Java Province. Ketapang village is 613 m above sea level, that has high rain intensity about 3.572 mm per year, and that daily temperature average is 27o – 29o C. Today’s problem is the climate change impact in the agriculture sector which are possibility of failed harvest and the decreasing of production. The impact of the climate change feels by women farmers rather than men farmers. Agriculture sector in Ketapang village is managed by the society. Women farmer is managed by Women Farmer Group (WFG) that divided into three groups which are An Nisak I, An Nisak II and WFG Bunga. The result shows that the form of WFG strategy is the application of organic agriculture system and diversification of organic agriculture products. Besides, the application of organic agriculture system by WFG has the factors that affect in overcome the impact of climate change. This shows that there is women roles in overcome the impact of climate change in managing society and environment.
