GAMBARAN TINGKAT PSYCHOLOGICAL WELL BEING PADA PASIEN KANKER PAYUDARA DI RSUD TUGUREJO SEMARANG

Abstract

Breast cancer ranks fifth in death cases in the world and second in Indonesia. Patients with breast cancer tend to experience depression, emotional stress, disappointment, and even despair. This condition can result in psychological patients. This study aims to determine the description of Psychological Well Being in breast cancer patients in Tugurejo Hospital Semarang. This study was a descriptive survey with a cross-sectional approach. The data were collected using consecutive sampling with a total sampling of 134 respondents with inclusive criteria for patient diagnosed with breast cancer who were on treatment and patients who could communicate well.The study conducted using the validated Ryff Scale Psychological Well Being questionnaire. As many as 64 respondents (47.8%) have low Psychological Well Being and 70 respondents (52.2%) have high Psychological Well Being. The results of the analysis of the Psychological Well Being domain as many as 53.7% of respondents have the lowest value on the Domain Positive relationship with others (positive relations with others) and 63.4% of respondents who have a high value on the Self Acceptance and Life Purpose Domain. The results of this study are expected to be used by nurses or health workers in the provision of individual counseling services for respondents and group support for respondents to improve good psychological value to become breast cancer patients.
