This thesis research the formation process of Gairaigo or the absorption words and the meaning of words in Gairaigo which are reviewed in terms of their semantics in their use in Japanese. Gairaigo is an absorption vocabulary from a foreign language written using katakana letters which is one of the writing characteristics. In the process of word formation, the key words at the beginning and end, the form of use in gairaigo can also be combined with the Japanese language or gairaigo itself. The word on gairaigo is also called a shortening on the syllables. As well as discussing how to adjust to habits, situations that are influenced by Japanese society. Based on the analysis, the results of this research are evidence that there are many words that exist and are still part of Japanese, there are still many words from Japanese that have original words.
