PERILAKU CUCI TANGAN PAKAI SABUN (CTPS) PADA IBU RUMAH TANGGA DI KELURAHAN PURWOSARI KECAMATAN SEMARANG UTARA KOTA SEMARANG

Abstract

Typoid is one of the infectious diseases which is causing health problem in our society due to lack of maintaining environmental health and individual’s hygiene. One of the preventive efforts undertaken by used to do the handwashing with soap. The important roles of the housewife as the initiator in the family to influence their health behavior. The purpose of this study was to identify handwashing with soap behavior as prevention of typoid on housewife living. This study was a descriptive quantitative research with the purposive random sampling method. The data was collected by using a questionnaire based on the World Health Orgaization hand washing standard with modifications of the experts. It had reliability test with result is very reliable. The normality test indicated the data had normal spread. Univariate analysis used were in the forms of frequency distribution and percentage. A total of 102 respondents participated in the study. The majority of respondents who participated in this study were in age range of 41- <60 years, a high school education, and monthly family income between Rp.2.500.000-Rp.3.500.000. The result of this research showed the handwashing with soap behavior was in a good category. The conclusion showed the category of handwashing with soap behavior by the housewife in Purwosari was in good category. The efforts to improve the awareness by the housewife related to the handwashing with soap behavior is to do some helath promotion with communication information and training.
