ROMANTIKA PERCINTAAN DAN PENGGUNAAN GAYA BAHASA KIAS PADA LIRIK LAGU DALAM ALBUM DUNIA BATAS GRUP BAND PAYUNG TEDUH (SEBUAH KAJIAN STILISTIKA)

Poetry is one of the literary works created through expressions of thought and idea by a poet or a writer. Poets or writers commonly write poetry by using language style. The use of figurative language style can be found in the process of writing song lyrics. Accordingly, the writer arranges two research questions, namely: how are the language styles portrayed in the song lyrics, and what are the functions and meanings of the song lyrics in the album Dunia Batas by Payung Teduh. The aims of this research are to describe the use of figurative language style and to explain the functions and meanings of the song lyrics.This research uses descriptive analytic method by applying theories that will be explained in the theoretical framework. The technic of data collecting is obtained from library research, reading-observation attentively, and note taking method.Based on this research, the writer finds that there are three language styles in the song lyrics of Payung Teduh, namely, simile, metonymy-synecdoche, and structural arrangements.
