Dosen Pembimbing (1) Dr. Muh Abdullah, M. A. (2) Drs. Moh Muzakka, M. Hum. Piwulang Patraping Ngagesang Manuscript (PPN ) is a manuscript that contains the teachings of married life. PPN is a collection of the Surakarta Library Library with call code 248 Ha. PPN is a text written by K.G.P.A.A. Mangkunegaran IV was written on 18 Mulud Dal 1807 H (March 19, 1878 AD). The purpose of the research is to present the translation of text and transliteration, revealing the structure and content contained in the text using two kinds of theories, the philological and structural norms of Roman Ingarden's strata. The philological analysis of PPN manuscripts is carried out through stages which include: description of Piwulang Patraping Ngagesang Fiber, describing the contents of text, transliteration and text translation. The structural theory of Roman Ingarden is used to find out the structure and content contained in PPN . This research uses descriptive qualitative method by describing data in the form of PPN text, which contains three songs, namely dhandhang gula, kinanthi, and mijil. Research found that; First, the sound layer in the three songs of the PPN text is obtained through the use of purwakanthi, kakafoni, efoni, and rhythm. Second, the meaning layers in the three songs analyzed are generated through utilization. Third, the unit of meaning / layer of the object proposed by the PPN text is analyzed with the background, character, and world of the author. Fourth, the world layer in the PPN text is the content or mandate contained in the PPN text. Keywords: philology, text, structure, norm strata, piwulang
