Gambaran Tingkat Kecanduan Game Online Pada Mahasiswa Departemen Sistem Komputer Fakultas Teknik Undip Tembalang

Abstract

Online game is one of the internet services that attracts the attention of public. The phenomenon of online game mostly occurs in students and they generally do not know the adverse effects of using online game when they used to play online game excessively. The excessive using of online game certainly has some negative impacts about physically, socially, psychologically and the use of high frequency can cause an addiction in playing online game. This research was aimed to see the level of online game addiction scale in students of the Computer System Department Engineering Faculty of Undip Tembalang. The type of research was quantative descriptive survey with accidental sampling method with 172 students. The data was collected by using the Game Addiction Scale questionnaire.the results showed the level of game addiction scale of the students was 56,4% as a mild addiction. One of the mental health nursing efforts is to optimalize mental health for the community with a promotive, preventive, curative, rehabilitative approach. The promotion and prevention way are needed to minimalize the addiction of online game and as not get lead to the high addiction. Keyword: Online game, addiction, students
