Bachelor’s Degree in Indonesian language and literature Department. Faculty of Cultural Studies, Diponegoro University. Semarang. Advisor I Laura Andri R.M., S.S., M.A. Advisor II Dra. Rukiyah, M. Hum. The novel of Topi Hamdan by Auni Fa tells about the suffering of life experienced Hamdan character to cause conflict in him. The writer tries to researching and express inner conflicts experienced by Hamdan figures by using structural theory, sequence theory, Sigmund Freud's personality theory, and inner conflict theory. Structural theory is used to determine the intrinsic elements of a novel that are focused on figures and characterization, plot, and setting. Sequence theory is used to determine the main figure and find the sequence of stories. Sigmund Freud's personality theory is used to reveal the personality of the Hamdan character as well as support to find inner conflicts in Hamdan figure. The theory of inner conflict is used to reveal conflicts that occur in the character of Hamdan. The method used in this study is a qualitative descriptive method using a structural approach and a psychological psychology approach. The analysis results of Hamdan's inner conflict in the novel of Topi Hamdan by Auni Fa are; (1) the problem in the character of Hamdan is dominated by the id rather than the ego, causing inner conflict, (2) the underlying factors for the occurrence of inner conflict are internal factors and external factors. Internal factors include feeling anxious about oneself, while external factors include harsh and unfair treatment of stepfathers, as well as slander by the closest person, (3) the inner conflict can be resolved in three ways, namely, introjection shown by remembering mother's advice, fixation is indicated by experiencing depression, and regression is indicated by re-sewing the painter's hat.
