Abstract
Pengkelatan berfungsi untuk meningkatkan kualitas dari minyak jahe. Metode pengkelatan yang dilakukan pada penelitian ini adalah menggunakan asam sitrat, dimana asam sitrat dapat digunakan sebagai pengikat impuritas dalam minyak jahe sehingga dapat meningkatkan mutu minyak jahe. Dalam hal ini pengukuran kualitas minyak jahe di ukur dengan pengujian Indeks biasnya dengan membendingkan indeks bias minyak jahe murni dengan indeks bias minyak jahe hasil pengkelatan dengan asam sitrat menggunakan alat WYA Abbe Refractometer. Pada pengujian indeks bias minyak jahe menggunakan pengkelat asam sitrat pada konsentrasi 0N; 0,5N; 1N; 1,5N; 2N; 2,5N dan 3N diperoleh indeks bias minyak sebesar 1,4895 1,4915; 1,487; 1,4878; 1,4855; 1,489; dan 1,4869. Pada praktikum ini, didapat nilai Dari hasil pengujian nilai indeks bias minyak jahe konsentrasi 0,5 N naik,konsentrasi 1 N turun,kontrasi 1,5 N naik, kontrasi 2 N turun, kontrasi 2,5 N naik,kontrasi 3 N turun. Sedangkan dari grafik di dapat persamaan regresinya y = -0,0005 x + 1,4902 dengan nilai R 2 = 0,3069. Kata Kunci : Asam sitrat, Indeks Bias , WYA Abbe Refractometer ABSTRACT Chelating serves to improve the quality of ginger oil. The method of chelating performed in this study is to use citric acid, where citric acid can be used as a binder of impurities in ginger oil so as to improve the quality of ginger oil. In this case the measurement of the quality of ginger oil is measured by testing its refractive index by placing a refractive index of pure ginger oil with refractive index of ginger oil resulting from citric acid by using the WYA Abbe Refractometer. . In testing the refractive index of ginger oil using citric acid chelating at concentration 0N; 0,5N; 1N; 1,5N; 2N; 2,5N and 3N obtained refractive index of oil equal to 1.4895 1.4915; 1.487; 1.4878; 1.4855; 1.489; and 1.4869. In this experiment, obtained value From the test results of refractive index value of ginger oil 0.5 N concentration rose, 1 N concentration decreased, 1.5 N of contraction rose, 2 N of contraction decreased, 2.5 N of contraction rose, 3 N down.
