Abstract

Kata kunci : air tanah, Klorida, intrusi air laut Semarang City is one of the major cities in Indonesia is located in coastal areas, potentially of the seawater intrusion. The pumping of groundwater will increased by about 16% per year from 427,050 m3/yr in 1900, being 39,189,827 m3/yr in 2000, is likely to be a trigger factors. The aim of this research is to develop a model of seawater intrusion using Chloride indicator in groundwater on confined aquifer. Research is descriptive quantitative, the population are the deep wells and number of samples are 41 pieces. The equation of advection-diffusion 1 dimension as a form of transport equations of Chloride with completion of the model by using numerical methods. The results of the study, from 2009 to in 2013, the distance of land as the effect of seawater intrusion increased from 2.4 km to 3.5 km. Model of seawater intrusion in form of advection-diffusion equation 1 dimensions. Groundwater pumping is resulting in reduced of bulk density soil from 4.625kg/m3 up to 2.688 kg/m3 or up to 1.588 kg/m3. In 2035, the seawater intrusion is predicted to reach 3.7 km of coastline in the west route, 4.6 km from the coastline in the middle route, and 4.3 km of coastline in the east route. The conclusion, the increase of distance of confined aquifer from effect of seawater intrusion is 36-60 m/yr. Groundwater pumping result will reducing of bulk density soil about 58-66% of its original condition. In 2035, the seawater intrusion increased 40% from the year 2013. Control of pollution of groundwater needs to be improved and the model can be used as a tool for early information in decision-making on a groundwater management. Keywords: groundwater, chlorides, seawater intrusion
