GUGATAN TENTANG POLIGAMI DALAM NOVEL AYAT AYAT CINTA KARYA HABIBURRAHMAN EL SHIRAZY DENGAN NOVEL SURGA YANG TAK DIRINDUKAN KARYA ASMA NADIA (Sebuah Kajian Intertekstual)

The advisors, Prof. Dr. Mudjahirin Thohir, M.A. and Laura Andri R.M., S.S., M.A. Literature Department, Faculty of Humanities, Diponegoro University. The material objects of this research are Ayat Ayat Cinta (2008) novel by Habiburrahman El Shirazy with Surga Yang Tak Dirindukan (2015) novel by Asma Nadia. The research problem of this study reveals how the intertextuality and the criticism about polygamy between Ayat Ayat Cinta with Surga Yang Tak Dirindukan. This study is aimed to analyze the intertextuality between Ayat Ayat Cinta with Surga Yang Tak Dirindukan in its intrinsic aspects. The intrinsic aspects consist of theme, character, plot, setting and point of view. It is also aimed to give criticism about polygamy in both novels. The method used in this research are collecting data, analyzing data, and presenting the result. The theory used are structural theory of fiction, and intertextual studies. Structural fiction theory is used to analyze the intrinsic structures of Ayat Ayat Cinta with Surga Yang Tak Dirindukan novels. Whereas, the intertextual theory is used to find the intertextuality and criticism about polygamy between both novels. The result of this study shows that there are intertextuality between Ayat Ayat Cinta with Surga Yang Tak Dirindukan novels. The intertextuality is seen on the resemblance of the intrinsic aspects of both novels. Those aspects are theme and character, and also place and time setting. On the other hand, there are differences between the plot, point of view and social background of the novels. In Ayat Ayat Cinta novel, the male character dominates the story. While, in Surga Yang Tak Dirindukan, the dominant character is the female character. Moreover, both novels have the same conflicts that cause polygamy. Though it is not fully related, it is proved that there are intertextuality between Ayat Ayat Cinta with Surga Yang Tak Dirindukan. Keywords: novel, structural, intertextual, concept of polygamy.
