Abstract
ABSTRACT Darmawan, Ricky. 2018 “The Meaning of Symbol and Indirect Expression on the song lyrics of Message Bottle Album by Amazarashi. Semiotics Studies” A Thesis of Japanese Studies, Faculty of Humanities, Diponegoro Universities. Thesis supervisor Nur Hastuti, SS, M.Hum. This thesis is discusses about the meaning of symbol and indirect expressions on the song lyric of Message Bottle Album by Amazarashi. The aims of this research is to explain the meaning of symbol indirect expression and explaining how the song writer explain the human life on this song lyrics. This source of thesis is from 13 song on the Message Bottle Album by Amazarashi with using a literature method and also using Riffaterre Semiotics Theory to explain the meaning of symbol and indirect expression on the song lyrics.Based on the data analysis, the conclusion of this thesis is 28 symbol and 28 indirect expression.
