Abstract

Kata Kunci: Kemacetan Lalu Lintas, Radio Frequency Identification, Fuzzy Logic, Rule-Based Expert System This research implements a fuzzy rule-based system for traffic congestion monitoring using radio frequency identification technology. Several methods have been proposed to solve density calculations but they are not accurate because they do not incorporate the main variables of mean velocity and the percentage of occupancy rates. This research proposes a fuzzy traffic congestion counting system using RFID technology to identify vehicles. Information obtained in the form of vehicle speed and the area of the vehicle used as input for processing using the fuzzy algorithm. Experiments on the system used an average vehicle speed data of 8.27 m/sec at a measurement length of 100 m, a road area of 800 m2 and the total area of the vehicle in the monitoring area of 472.318 m2 with a percentage of road occupancy rate of 59.04%. Fuzzification process with initial stages of membership function obtained a value for the average low speed 0,173, middle 0,769 and high 0,0 and low road occupancy 0,0, middle 0,699 and high 0,181. To compare the congestion rate based on the average speed and the occupancy rate of roads used rule-based for the average speed of "middle" and the occupancy rate "middle" obtained the status of traffic congestion "light-heavy". From these results can reflect the situation of traffic congestion based on the main variables of average speed and an occupancy rate of the road.
