Abstract

ABSTRACT Ariaji, Ihsan Bintang. 2018. “Analisis Perangkat Kohesi dalam Wacana Cerita Pendek Chuumon no Ooi Ryouriten”. Thesis, Departement of Japanese Language and Culture, Faculty of Humanities, Diponegoro University. The Advisor: Lina Rosliana, S.S., M.Hum. This research aims to describe cohesion elements found in short story discourse and how the cohesiveness is formed in said short story. The writer took the data from a short story titled Chuumon no Ooi Ryouriten by Miyazawa Kenji. The data from the short story were collected using note taking technique. After the data were collected, then the data were analyzed using descriptive analysis method. Based on the analysis, it is later understood that the short story Chuumon no Ooi Ryouriten is a cohesive discourse because it consists both of gramatical and lexical cohesion. The gramatical cohesion components used in the short story are reference, ellipsis, and conjunction. Meanwhile the lexical cohesion components used in the short story consists of repetition, synonym, hyponym, and collocation. Moreover, the analysis also shows that reference and conjunction are the most frequently used gramatical cohesion while repetition is the most frequently used lexical cohesion components.
