Abstract

Services in the field of motorcycle workshops with the growth of motorized vehicle usage have bright prospects and at the same time a very profitable business opportunity. This study aims to analyze the effect of Total Quality Management, Total Productive Maintenance and Mechanic’s Competence on the Operational Performance of Motorcycle Workshops in Semarang City. Data collection techniques used in this study are questionnaires. The sampling technique used was Total Sampling which included respondents from 85 workshops from Yamaha, Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki. The technique used to analyze the effect of independent variables on the dependent variable of the study is multiple linear regression analysis. The results of the study prove that the hypothesis of Total Quality Management has a positive effect on the Operational Performance received. The second hypothesis of Total Productive Maintenance has a positive effect on the Operational Performance received. The third hypothesis of Mechanic’s Competence has a positive effect on the Operational Performance received. The coefficient of determination test results state that the three independent variables have an effect of 71% on Operating Performance. Motorcycle workshops must continue to maintain and improve the process of Total Quality Management (TQM), Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) and Mechanic’s Competence in order to continue to gain competitive advantage and improve Operational Performance.
