Abstract

Deka Ade Yusmawan The Effect of Breathing Exercise on Pranayama Yoga on the Anxiety Level of Hemodialysis Patients 80 pages + 8 tables + 5 images + 10 appendices Patients undergoing hemodialysis experience changes in lifestyle and feelings of anxiety. Patient anxiety can arise because of a very long (lifetime) suffering. This can cause psychological problems, especially anxiety. Breathing exercises exercise Pranayama yoga can be used to reduce anxiety by increasing relaxation in patients undergoing hemodialysis. This study aims to determine the effect of breathing exercise exercise pranayama yoga on changes in decreased anxiety in Chronic Kidney Disease patients undergoing hemodialysis. This study uses an experimental quasy design with a total sample of 72 patients pre-intervention control. Pranayama yoga practice is carried out in 4 sessions in a period of 2 weeks with a duration of treatment for 10 minutes per session. Data were analyzed by univariate, bivariate and multivariate. The results showed that there were significant differences in mean scores of anxiety between the intervention group and the control group with p = 0,000. This study can be concluded that there is the effect of breathing exercise on pranayama yoga on the reduction of anxiety levels of CKD patients undergoing hemodialysis.
