One of the risks in a patient's safety problem that possibly arises is a patient fall. Fall is an incident resulting an injury to clients who are initially conscious becomes unconscious. The effects of fall can be categorized into various types of injuries, namely physical damage and psychological damage. An accurate assessment of the results is important to ensure that the client's needs are properly identified and the nurse applies a correct sequence of treatments. Morse fall scale consists of six variables that can be assessed immediately and simply. It has been proven that the scale is reliable and has predictive validity as well. Morse fall scale is widely used in acute care patients in hospitals and hospitalizations that require long-term care. Furthermore, the purpose of this study was to find out the characteristics of nurses and the result of patient fall risk assessment using Morse Fall Scale at the K.R.M.T Wongsonegoro Hospital, Semarang. This research was a quantitative research using probability sampling technique, and the data collection used was morse fall scale checklist. Data analysis used was univariate analysis that produced frequency distribution tables. A total of 145 respondents participated in this study. The demographic characteristics in this study were mostly middle age, female, having education level of 3-year diploma and having an average tenure of <10 years. The results of the study stated that 67% of respondents was in the appropriate category and 33% was inappropriate in accordance with the standard operating procedure (SOP) in reducing fall risk.
