Abstract

Patients’satisfaction is a comparison between nursing action performance with patients’ expected performance. The nurse satisfaction is strongly influenced by services given by the nurse practitioners. Discharge Planning through National Standards of Hospital Accreditation is used by the head nurses and staff nurse to do nursing care started from patients’ admission until they are discharged. This study was aimed at knowing the effects of discharge planning implementation using national standards of hospital accreditation on the satisfaction of patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease ( COPD ) in RSUD Karanganyar. The research design used was quasi experimental with pre and post-test with control group. The sample were 29 respondents for each the control group and the intervention group that was taken through simple random sampling. The result of analysis showed that there was difference an satisfaction from patients with COPD between before and after training of discharge planning using national standards of hospital accreditation(p value = 0.031). It can be drawn a conclusion that there were effects of the discharge planning implementation using hospital accreditation on the satisfaction of patients with COPD. Based on the research finding, it is strongly recommended to have education, trainings, and discharge planning implementation toward the entire nursing managers in order to bring about good services to improve satisfaction of the patients with COPD.
