ABSTRACT Safitri, Larassati Ghina. 2018. “Majas and Diction Contained in The Lyrics of The Album Sentimentalovers by Ken Hirai Stylistic Studies”. A Thesis of Japanese Studies Department, Faculty of Humanities, Diponegoro University. Thesis supervisor Budi Mulyadi, S.Pd., M.Hum. This thesis discusses, majas and diction along with their meaning in the lyrics of the album Sentimentalovers by Ken Hirai. This study aims to find out the majas and diction contained in the song lyrics. The data used in this thesis were six lyrics of Ken Hirai's song in the album Sentimentalovers. The method used in this thesis is literature study method. The theory used is the theory of majas and the diction of Gorys Keraf. Based on data analysis, it can be concluded that there are 13 songs in the song lyrics in the album Sentimentalovers and 13 meanings in connotations. Keywords: stylistics, Gorys Keraf, majas, diction
