Abstract
Massage is the art of ancient treatment or healing that can provide many benefits for all parts of body, therefore massage is also called a preventive treatment that is important for maintaining freshness health and fitness. Massage canbe given to babies after birth. Giving baby massage regularly can stimulate baby’s growth and development. But, there are many mothers who give a baby massage only during illness. This is due to the mother’s belief that baby massage is done to deal with massaging her baby is socio-cultural factor. The purpose of this study was to determine the socio-cultural relationship with infant massage practices in Tergo Village, Dawe District, Kudus Regency. This research is a descriptive research. Sample of this research is 32 mothers who had babies aged 0-12 months with a total sampling technique. The data is collected using a questionnaire. The results of this study indicate that there is a relationship between socio-cultural and baby massage practices in Tergo Village, Dawe District, Kudus Regency with p value 0.000 <(α = 0.05). Researchers suggest to mothers for increasing motivation in giving baby massage to the baby. Keywords: Baby Massage, Socio-culture Bibliography: 49 (1999-2017)
