Abstract
Abstract Results of the preliminary study show that the nursing performance at Aisyiyah Hospital in Kudus has not been fully reported using a balanced scorecard approach. From the financial perspective, the nursing performance still uses a traditional system; it cannot display and calculate the customer aspects, learning, and growth. Aisyiyah Hospital has implemented the balanced scorecard system, however, in some non-financial matters, the system has not been appropriately implemented. There are several problems which currently exist, including the employee turn over in the last one year which reaches >8%, the employee payment which is under the regional minimum wage of Kudus, the lack of reward for the employees pursuing higher education, and the BOR which is less than 70%. This research aimed to analyze the nursing performance at Aisyiyah Hospital in Kudus regency using a balanced scorecard approach. This research was a qualitative study involving eight informants selected using purposive sampling technique and was conducted at Aisyiyah Hospital in Kudus from March to April 2018. The data were collected through in-depth interviews. The results showed that the nursing performance reached 50-67% of the standard target of 85%. Regarding the finance, this study showed clear financial reports in every month and each hospital unit, while regarding the service level, the study showed that the rates of BOR and LOS were 70% of the standard of 75% to 80%. The internal business result viewed from the standard of IKM showed the value of 80% value and was considered good. The results also showed that the growth and development of nurses had never been carried out and the level of education was not yet programmed. Based on the results of this study, it is recommended that the nursing performance should be improved through collaboration with educational partners to conduct research. Further studies related to the cost-effectiveness in the BPJS era are also needed. Keywords: Nursing performance, balance scorecard, in-depth interview References: 38 (2010 - 2016)
