PERTENTANGAN BATIN TOKOH UTAMA DALAM NOVEL CERITA TENTANG RANI KARYA HERRY SANTOSO SEBUAH KAJIAN PSIKOLOGI SASTRA

Sa’adah, Hilda Nurus. 2018. “The Inner Contention of Main Figure In a Novel Cerita Tentang Rani by Herry Santoso. A Study of Psychology Literature”. Thesis (S-1). Faculty of cultural Science, Diponegoro University, Semarang. Advisor I Dr. Redyanto Noor, M.Hum. and Advisor II Dra. Rukiyah, M.Hum. This research aims to express the main figure Rani in the novel Cerita Tentang Rani. The writer uses the structural approaching in order to describe structural aspects (figure and characteristic, scenario and plot) which built up the total novel and the psychology literature approaching as a reference in analysing the character of main figure. The result of structural analysis in the novel Cerita Tentang Rani is there are five figures dividing into a person as the main figure and four as additional figures. This novel uses a forward plot or a plot that runs the series of orderly and regularly events that appropriate from the beginning to the end. It has three spots that delivered in the novel; Masalembo island, Blitar city and the capital city of Jakarta. Its time occurs in the morning, the day, the afternoon and the night. The social background related to social society that occurs in some regions. It is because some regions have different social society and characteristic. The result of psychology literature analysis of the main figure Rani is she has a stability on id, ego and superego. In the beginning, the id does not appear on Rani. It looks like she has no any responsibilities and being selfish, but the ego can control between desire and reality. Meanwhile, the superego of Rani refers to moral so that she is able to know the good one and bad one. The classifications of Rani’s emotion are feeling fault, feeling buried fault, sadness and love that make feelings relate to the action.
