Gambaran Kebutuhan Spiritual pada Pasien Kanker Payudara Post Mastektomi dengan Terapi Adjuvant Di RSUD Tugurejo Semarang

Abstract

Spiritual needs become one of the most important needs for breast cancer patient who had undergone mastectomy to improve their quality of life. If the spiritual needs are not fulfilled, it can be spiritual distress where the patients will experience a decrease in trust that gives their strength, hope and meaning of life. The purpose of this study was to examine the spiritual needs of breast cancer patient who had undergone mastectomy with adjuvant therapy in Tugurejo Hospital Semarang. Methods of data collection use descriptive research design with sample 96 respondents. Collecting data use two instrument consisting of respondent characteristics (demographic data and clinical data) and instrument Spiritual Needs Questionnaire 2.1 (SpNQ 2.1). To analyze data of spiritual needs, the study used distribution of frequency and percentage. Mean value was used to identify how important those spiritual needs were to respondents (0 not at all; 1 somewhat; 2 strong; 3 very strong). The results of this study showed that the highest important need are actively giving need with 66 respondents (68,8%), religious need with 48 respondents (50,0%), existential need with 10 respondents (10,4%),and inner peace need with 4 respondents (4,2%). The conclusion are expected to be used as a benchmark in improving the fulfillment of respondents’ spirituality. This study indicated all dimensions of spiritual needs domain are important to respondents and actively giving were most needed.
