Abstract

The satisfaction level of HD patients is one of the important indicators to recognize the quality of nursing services. HD patients have to undergo regular and prolonged therapy therapy in order to susceptible of physical and psychosocial problems so that quality nursing services are needed. The purpose of this study was to determine the satisfaction level of patients toward nursing services at the Hemodialysis Unit. This type of research was descriptive quantitative with a cross sectional approach. The sampling technique used total sampling with the total sample of 84 respondents. The data collection used the results from a modified questionnaire of satisfaction level of patients toward nursing services at the Hemodialysis Unit. The results showed the majority of respondents (82.1%) were satisfied with nursing services at the Hemodialysis Unit. The satisfaction level of respondents in every aspect showed that most of respondents (> 60%) were satisfied with tangible, responsiveness, and assurance aspects. More than partly respondents (52.4%) were satisfied with the empathy aspect and partly respondents (50.0%) were satisfied with reliability aspect. The majority of respondents were satisfied with the nursing service at the Hemodialysis Unit. The biggest dissatisfaction was dissatisfaction toward reliability aspect. This research is expected to be a recommendation to improve nursing services with an increasing the number of HD certified nurses, procurement of hemodialysis in house training, and maksimalize operating procedures in HD explanation for patients and families.
