Abstract
Bidikmisi scholarship students have a number of rules that have to be followed. They also need to be able to fulfill the agreed conditions. One of the agreed conditions is that their Grade Point Average (GPA) should be at least 3.0, and they have to graduate on time. However, there are still some Bidikmisi scholarship students who have negative self-concept. The purpose of this study was to describe the self-concept of Bidikmisi scholarship students in the Nursing Department, Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Diponegoro. The type of the research used was descriptive quantitative. In taking sample, the researcher used total sampling technique, with a total of 145 Bidikmisi students in Nursing Department Universitas Diponegoro taken as sample. The data was taken by using the Positive Self-Concept questionnaire, and analyzed by using descriptive statistics. The results showed that 65.5% of the Bidikmisi scholarship students have positive self-concept, while 34.5% of the students have negative self-concept. The majority of Bidikmisi scholarship students in each batch have positive self-concept. The highest positive self-concept is owned by the Bidikmisi scholarship students from batch 2014 with the percentage of 78.4% in total. The rest are batch 2017 with the percentage of 72.7%, batch 2015 with the percentage of 58.3%, and batch 2016 with the percentage of 53.8%. This difference in self-concept can occur due to several factors, including self-adjustment and experience. Based on the results of the study, it is recommended for the students with negative self-concept to improve their own concepts. It can be done by taking positive thinking training.
