Abstract

Law No. 38 year 2014 supports Indonesian nurses to improve the quality of nursing services. Therefore, nurses' knowledge about Law No. 38 of 2014 is needed. The purpose of this study was to find out internal and external factors related to nurses ' knowledge about the duties and authority of nurses in accordance of law No. 38-year 2014. This research was a quantitative research with a cross-sectional approach. The sampling technique used was proportional random sampling. Retrieval of data using a questionnaire questionnaires A containing data demographics and questioners B with 29 questions about job and authority nurses. This study used univariate analysis and bivariate analysis using chi square and spearman. A total of 226 respondents participated in the study. The results showed that 54% of respondents 'knowledge about nurses' duties and authority in accordance with Law No. 38 of 2014 was in good category. While bivariate analysis revealed that factors related to nurses' knowledge included, last education (p = 0.01), economy (p = 0.015), interest (p = 0.004), and access to information (p = 0.001). The conclusion of the study was that there are 4 factors related to nurses' knowledge about the duties and authority of nurse according to Law No. 38 of 2014 which consists of internal factors (final education and interest ) and external factors (income (economic) and access to information). The suggestion in this study is that there is a need to increase education for nurses, especially about the duties and authority of nurses to improve the quality of care.
