POLA PIKIR DAN PERILAKU TOKOH YUS DALAM NOVEL DIMENSI KETIGA KARYA NANUNG PRASETYO ARIADI (SEBUAH KAJIAN PSIKOLOGI PERKEMBANGAN)

Abstract

Ridho, Ahmad. 2018. “Yus’ mindset and behavior in the novel entitled Dimensi Ketiga created by Nanung Prasetyo Ariadi is a study of development psychology”. A final project (S-1). Faculty of cultural science in the University of Diponegoro Semarang. Advisor I: Drs. M. Hermintoyo, M. Pd. and advisor II: Dra. Rukiyah, M. Hum. The material object of this research is was the novel entitled Dimensi Ketiga created by Nanung Prasetyo Ariadi. This research used qualitative method based on the structural and development psychology theory. The objective of this research was to express the intrinsic elements included character and characterization, plot, and setting. Besides that, the writer also used the theory of development psychology and indigo to express and explain the development of mindset and indigo behavior factors which was had by yus. The result of structural analysis toward this novel was found out sixteen caharacters consisted of one main caharacter and fifteen additional haracters. The setting of this novel was place, time, and social setting. Whereas the plot of this novel were mixed plots. They were progressive plot based on the order of event and regressive plot happened many times.The result of development analysis of the main character in the novel entitled Dimensi Ketiga created by Nanung Prasetyo Ariadi. Was the character of Yus had mindset and behavior development which was different from other children’s development. It could be seen from the last period of childhood and puberty. The development of fast mindset and strange behavior such as the ability of looking at, listening, and communicating with the ghost directly and environment condition around effected Yus became frustration. By Yus’ ability development, he started to understand that it was a blessing. Finally, he decided to live with his indigo ability whatever would be.
