Pengalaman Mahasiswa dalam Melakukan Praktik Laboratorium di Kampus PSIK FK UNDIP

Abstract

Nursing laboratory practices is practicum media that provides an overview of hospital image for nursing students. An effective laboratory education can build confidence and help students achieve competencies. Each student has different experience in conducting laboratory practices. This study was aimed to explore the experiences of students in conducting laboratory practices at Nursing Department of Medical Faculty of Diponegoro University. The study was qualitative study with a phenomenological approach. The sample was based on purposive sampling, involving six participants. The data was collected through in-depth interviews. The result of the study was three themes. Those are students’ perception of conducting laboratory practices, students’ practices in conducting laboratory practices, and evaluation of laboratory practices. The conclusion is that the students’ experiences in conducting laboratory practices can be seen from the satisfaction of the laboratory practices carried out, obstacle in conducting laboratory practices and evaluating the result of laboratory practices. The result are expected to be a reference for students to learn in advance the handbook that has been given, to manage time well and to maintain laboratory equipment.
