Abstract

The past decades of international business research has seen an extraordinary evolution in awareness and understanding of cross-cultural management. In Indonesia, the growth of manpower from various countries, improving environmental performance. Not all expatriates stationed in a new country succeed in their international assignments. Cultural adjustment are considered to be a prerequisite for the achievement of foreigners abroad. This study aims to explain the adaptation stages of expatriates, the factors that influence and solve expatriates, and also to know how expatriates from the viewpoint of the host-country community. This research uses qualitative method by using U-curve and using case study technique. Then, research was conducted on five expatriates working in the education sector. In addition to ekpatriat, this study also interviewed local workers working with expatriates. Each participant then gave a detailed explanation of all the parts of the study. The results of this study indicate that the causes of expatriates can not adapt to countries because it is not possible, with conflict, and reduce two-way communication between expatriates and host-country employees.
