Abstract

Abstract [Study Levels Of Freight Trains Analysis Of Reservation Around The Railway Road Semarang-Surabaya Road In Tambakrejo District Gayamsari Semarang] The passing train picked up a high noise that was dominated by the friction of the train wheels with rails, engine sounds, and the sound of a train horn. Areas less than 11 meters from the railroads should not be used as residential areas. In its implementation, the residential areas around the Semarang-Surabaya railroad line in Tambakrejo Village, Gayamsari District Semarang are not less than 11 meters away from the railroad tracks to their houses. The purpose of this study was to determine the equivalent noise level and determine the effect of train speed variables, number of carriage, and safety barriers to noise levels in settlements around the Semarang-Surabaya railroad track. The result of noise measurement at 4 (four) measurement points at a distances was less than 11 meters indicate the noise levels ranging from 75 dB (A) to 120 dB (A) as the train passes. The dominant variable that affected the noise level at this location was the train speed variable. The number of carriages variable affected the duration of noise exposure which received by the population, and the further the SLM distance placed from the railroad, the lower the measured noise level. The presence of a safety barrier on the north side of the railroad could reduce noise ranging from 2 dB (A) to 6 dB (A). Keywords: noise, freight trains, train speed, number of carriages
