ANALISIS EKSPOR MINYAK KELAPA SAWIT DAN FAKTOR YANG MEMPENGARUHINYA

Abstract

Palm oil is Indonesia's flagship export commodity, but its exports are fluctuating. The existence of the policy of Renewable Energy Dirrective (RED) 2009 applied by Europe is able to decrease Indonesia’s palm oil export. This study aims to analyze the Indonesia’s palm oil exports in 9 export destination countries. The development of exports is seen from the rising and decreasing trend of exports and by looking at the value of RCA. In addition, this study also aims to analyze the factors that affect Indonesia's palm oil exports. The method used to analyze the factors affecting the export of palm oil using the gravity model. This study analyzes the effect of GDP of export destination countries, distance, exchange rate, and RED EU policy on the value of Indonesia's palm oil exports to 9 major export destination countries. The countries are China, Germany, India, Italy, Netherlands, Pakistan, Singapore, Spain, and Tanzania. The data used is the value of Indonesia’s palm oil exports to 9 export destination countries during the period of 2005 to 2016 stated in US $. The results showed that the variable of GDP of export destination countries and RED positively affect the export of Indonesian palm oil to 9 export destination countries. While the distance and exchange rate variables proved to negatively affect the export of palm oil Indonesia.
