GAMBARAN PENGETAHUAN PERAWAT DI PUSKESMAS TENTANG UPDATE BANTUAN HIDUP DASAR PADA HENTI JANTUNG

Abstract

Cardiac arrest is an emergency condition that must be treated immediately. In 2014, it was noted that the incidence of out of hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA) in several countries in Asia Pacific was one of them in Indonesia in the last three years, namely 60,000 cases. Update on BLS knowledge is very important to know and do by nurses to save victims of cardiac arrest according to the latest AHA guidelines. The purpose of this study was to identify the description of nurses' knowledge in Public Health about BLS Update on cardiac arrest. This type of research was quantitative using a descriptive design with a survey approach. The sampling technique used total sampling with a total sample of 73 respondents using a questionnaire. Based on the results of the study, the majority of nurses' knowledge about signs of cardiac arrest was 60.3% and about 54.8% of BLS steps updated showed good knowledge. The results of the highest knowledge of nurses was on variables or items of hand position and the position of the victim when CPR as many as 73 respondents answered correctly by 100%. In the lack of results on CPR items for cardiac arrest, only 27.4% answered correctly. Based on this, it is recommended that nurses be able to increase their knowledge and skills regarding basic life support for cardiac arrest in accordance with the latest AHA guidelines.
