KRITIK SOSIAL DALAM CERPEN “RUSMI INGIN PULANG” KARYA AHMAD TOHARI (KAJIAN SOSIOLOGI SASTRA)

Abstract

This research is a literature research entirely obtained from written sources. This research is focused on Ahmad Tohari short story entitled “Rusmi Ingin Pulang”. The selection of this novel is based on the problem of public criticism of the community being suspicious of the widowed women reflected in the short story. the theory used is the sociology of literature. The result of literary sociology analysis in the story of “Rusmi Ingin Pulang” by Ahmad Tohari is a matter of social criticism covering economic and socio-cultural field. The form of economic criticism in the short story “Rusmi Ingin Pulang” by Ahmad Tohari, namely: Rusmi a widow who must support his children after her husband died, lack of income Rusmi as a widow to meet her needs, unfair treatment of Rusmi widow status, and Rusmi went to city to make money. The form of Social-Cultural Criticism in Cerpen “Rusmi Ingin Pulang” by Ahmad Tohari's, that is: the confusion of people's mindset towards the words of one person accusing Rusmi of working as a prostitute in Jakarta, himself and accused without any evidence of Rusmi being a prostitute, and Widow being a victim of slander for having a child status and having to bear the heavy burden of motherhood and fatherhood.
