Skripsi (S1) Faculty of Humanities Diponegoro Univercity Semarang. Advisor (1) Drs. Hendarto Saputra, S.U., M. Th. (2) Drs. Ary Setyadi, M.S. Vocabulary mastery in children is influenced by school environmental factors and family environment. Differences in family environment lead to differences in vocabulary mastery in children. The purpose of this research is to identify and mengekplanasi family environmental factors that affect the mastery of vocabulary of students in kindergarten Al-Ishlah Semarang. The research was conducted in Semarang, Al-Ishlah kindergarten. The research method used was cross-sectional design. The sample was chosen by purposive sampling method, based on 5-7 year age classification, the number was 13 children. The data taken was the number of vocabularies that were masteried by the students by showing a picture card of 302 pieces, as dependent variables (Y). As an independent variable (X), were 8 family environmental factors including 1) father education, 2) maternal education, 3) parent income, 4) number of family members, 5) duration of interaction with father, 6) duration of interaction with mother, 7 ) learning stimulation, 8) language stimulation. Furthermore, each variable X described its influence on the number of vocabulary mastery (Y), either analyzed statistically with correlation and determination test using SPSS 16. The result of this study found that the level of mastery of vocabulary of students in kindergarten Al-Ishlah Semarang was 200-294 vocabulary (66-97%). The order of influence of the family environment on the mastery of vocabulary of students in kindergarten of Al-Ishlah Semarang from the greatest influence is the long interaction with the father (44%), the number of family members in the house (28.8%), learning stimulation (13.4%), (13.4%), maternal education (12.1%), parent income (6.1%), duration of interaction with mother (0.8%) and father education (0.4%). Of the overall environmental factors family, which has a significant effect on vocabulary mastery is the interaction with the father and the number of family members. Both factors are negative, which means that the longer a child's interaction with the father and the greater number of family members living in one house, the vocabulary of the child is lower.
