HUBUNGAN ANTARA TINGKAT PENGETAHUAN FAKTOR RISIKO KANKER PAYUDARA DENGAN PERILAKU PEMERIKSAAN PAYUDARA SENDIRI PADA IBU RUMAH TANGGA DI RW 14 PUDAK PAYUNG KECAMATAN BANYUMANIK SEMARANG

Abstract

Breast cancer in Indonesia occupies the 2nd rank with 43.1% of all cancer. Preliminary study result shows that 12 of 15 mothers have not known the risk factor of breast cancer yet, and 10 of 15 mothers have not applied self-breastchecking. Those cause the increase of breast cancer. This research aims to analyze the relationship between the knowledge level of breast cancer risk and the behavior of self-breast-checking. This research occupies the cross sectional method to 92 housewives in RW 14 Pudak Payung. The sampling technique used is proportional random sampling. The data collection used questionnaire in which its validity and reliability has been tested. The data analysis used Spearman Rank. This research results are that 66.3% respondents are less knowledge and 51.1% respondents with less self-breast-examination. Statistical test stated that p value 0.000 and correlation coefficient value 0.402, so there is a relationship between the knowledge level of breast cancer risk and the behavior of self-breast- examination on housewives. The less the knowledge of breast cancer risk they have, the less the AWARE behavior. The health center officer needs to provide a health education about the risk of breast cancer and provides monitoring book of AWARE checking periodically.
