PEMAKNAAN SIMBOL-SIMBOL METAFORA DALAM ANTOLOGI HAIKU LOVE 『隠喩の記号の意味における『Haiku Love』のアンソロジーにおけるコード』

Abstract

Hermintoyo, M.Pd. The second advisor Nur Hastuti, S.S., M.Hum. Poetry is a structure of beautiful words which is arranged into one or more sentences. Each word contains the meaning which shows an author’s expression so the meaning of the poetry needs to be analyzed to explore the content of the poetry. Haiku is one of the ancient poetry types from Japan. Haiku Love anthology by Alan Cummings contains a collection of haiku from well known poets in Japan. The methods that can be used for analyzing poetry is library research and using symbol theory .        Symbolic analysis based on the way of creation is divided into three, blank symbol, private symbol and natural symbol. Blank symbol is a general symbol analysis used by the author. Private symbol is analysis of special symbols (the symbols which are not found in general term. Natural symbol which is divided into five parts, (1) animal phenomenon, (2) water phenomenon, (3) serial phenomenon, (4) plant phenomenon, (5) land phenomenon.        The Poetry that will be analyzed is haiku (Japanese poetry with 5-7-5 syllables) in Haiku Love (the anthology of 63 poetry of Japan). The data analyzed is concern about love in youth generation. The result of the research shows that 15 blank symbols, 16 private symbols, and 4 natural symbols are found in the data.
