Abstract

The relationship of family health task execution with Quality of Life Family Health Elderly with Hypertension in Community Health Center of Ngesrep, Semarang xvii + 65 pages + 17 tables + 2 pictures + 15 Appendix The prevalence of the elderly number in Indonesia is getting higher every year. The results of population projections in 2025 showed that Indonesia will enter a period of elderly (aging), where the number of elderly increase to 40 million and by 2050 is expected to jump up to reach 71.6 million. The aging process problem will lead into some impacts such as a hypertension in elderly. The body's system function change of elderly with hypertension can adversely affect the quality of life of them. Their qualities of life are influenced by several factors; one of them is the family through family health task execution. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship of family health task execution with quality of life of the elderly with hypertension. This research was a descriptive correlation research with cross sectional approach. This study was conducted in Community Health Center of Ngesrep, Semarang in June 2018. The samples were 61 elderly with hypertension using Quota sampling techniques. The instrument used was a questionnaire. The data were analyzed using Pearson correlation test. The results showed a statistically significant association (p = 0.000) between family health task execution and quality of life of elderly with hypertension which have strong correlation (0.735) and positive direction. The result of this study recommend for improve the knowledge and ability to care for elderly with hypertension to improve their quality of life.
