Gambaran Pengetahuan dan Praktik VULSARI (Pemeriksaan Vulva Sendiri) pada Premenopause

Abstract

ABSTRACT Reproductive health is a State of physical, mental, well-being and social whole that is not only free of disease or disability and disadvantage in all matters relating to the reproductive system and functions as well as processes. Reproductive health include female reproductive organ that is divided into two parts namely external genitalia and internal genitalia. Reproductive health problems usually attack the vulva which is the outer part of the female reproductive system. One of the early detection of vulvar cancer is by performing Vulva Self Examination (VSE). The purpose of this study was to describe the knowledge and practice of VSE (Vulva Self Examination) in premenopausal. The study use a quantitative design with descriptive study and cross-sectional approach. A purposive sampling was used to recruit the sample with an amount number 286 respondents. The data were collected by using a modification questionnaire about knowledge and practice VSE (Vulva Self Examination). The results of this study showed that 127 respondents (44.4%) of premenopausal had good knowledge and 160 respondents (55,9%) had good VSE practice. Based on the findings, the suggestion is premenopausal should increase knowledge about Vulva Self Examination especially about early detection of vulvar cancer with media and health services approaching.
